Ex-con Sammy gets a cleaning job but can’t turn his back on his larcenous past. He breaks into a warehouse and meets siblings Jamalee and Jason, who yearn to escape their hometown of Venus and their cynical mother Bev for the tuxedos and palm trees of Palm Springs. Jamalee and Jason hire Sammy to be their protector as they amass enough money to get them far from the Ozarks. He accepts and becomes a permanent fixture in the siblings’ lives.
