In the aftermath of World War I, German rocket scientist Zucher needs funding to complete his latest project but cannot get his countrymen to support him. Instead, Zucher and his colleague Heinz Dombrowsky accept an offer from the British to perfect his rocket design on the remote Scottish island of Scarp. At first, the locals are wary of the German in their midst but they soon come to love Zucker and his incredible flying contraption.
