Johann Rettenberger serves time for his misdeeds and is eventually released back into the community. On his way home, he carries out a theft, making clear that he has learnt nothing from his spell behind bars. As a condition of his parole, Johann must regularly attend his nearest job centre and seek employment. At the centre, he meets an old family friend, Erika, who offers Johann possible redemption but the adrenaline rush of each robbery proves difficult to resist.
