Irish architect and furniture designer Eileen Gray experiments with materials, colour, texture and design, channelling all of her creative energy into the construction of a holiday home for her lover, architect and critic Jean Badovici. The property overlooks the French Riviera and Gray opts for white minimalism for the property, known as Villa E1027. Badovici’s friend, Swiss-born Le Corbusier, then makes his mark on the villa by replacing Gray’s clean look with colour-saturated murals.
