In 1966 Vietnam, military analyst Daniel Ellsberg witnesses first-hand the loss of US troops and reports back his grave concerns to Secretary of Defence Robert McNamara. Fearful that the administration is whitewashing the unflattering truth, Ellsberg photocopies classified reports and leaks pages to The New York Times under editor Abe Rosenthal. When President Nixon attempts suppress publication of the classified reports, Ben Bradlee and his reporters on The Washington Post wade into the melee.
