Enrique Mazzola conducts Donizetti’s comical opera in two acts featuring the tenor aria “Ah! Mes Amis… Pour Mon Ame” with nine high Cs, broadcast live from the stage of the Lincoln Center For The Performing Arts in New York. Marie is an orphan, who has been raised by soldiers of the 21st regiment and has now become their mascot. When she finally takes a husband, Marie is obliged to choose a member of the regiment. Unfortunately, she is head over heels in love with a local Tyrolean called Tonio.
