Ninetysomething grandmother Eka lives in Tblisi, the capital of Georgia, with her daughter Marina and granddaughter Ada. Eka’s only glimmers of joy come from the occasional postcard, letter or telephone call from her only son Otar, who now resides and works in Paris. When Otar is killed, Marina and Ada realise the shock of his passing might be too much for Eka to bear so they continue to fake his missives.
