A 50th anniversary revival of George Balanchine’s celebrated ballet in three acts, recorded live on the stage of the Royal Opera House in London under the baton of conductor Pavel Sorokin. The three sections, entitled Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds, are distinguished by different colour schemes and the contrasting choreography draws from the stirring music of Faure, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky respectively.
