Peco and Smile are childhood best friends and fellow competitors in their high school's table tennis team. Smile is the more gifted of the two boys but he deliberately loses to his friend to ensure their relationship remains on steady ground. Peco meanwhile, often misses valuable coaching sessions to play for money in a local ping-pong emporium. When the school enters Peco and Smile into a national tournament, the two boys are faced with a terrible dilemma: victory or friendship.
