Mankind launches the Starship Avalon, loaded with over 5,000 people in deep sleep. This precious cargo is heading for a distant colony planet, situated 120 years from Earth. Thirty years into the journey, two of the hibernation pods malfunction and mechanical engineer Jim Preston and journalist Aurora Dunn wake prematurely. They discover that they cannot reinitiate the pods sleep command and they must spend the rest of their lives together with the ship’s robot bartender Arthur.
