Fred Daly returns to his beloved Ireland without anywhere to stay and little in the way of worldly possessions. He sleeps in his car and lives from day to day, striking up a friendship with dope-smoking 21-year-old Cathal, who parks next to his vehicle. The two men become unlikely friends and Cathal persuades Fred to meet new people, the first of whom is music teacher Juliana. The three outsiders grow closer discovering hope in each other’s company.
