Eighteen-year-old Sonia gives birth to a baby boy called Jimmy and returns home to find that her 20-year-old boyfriend Bruno has sublet their apartment to finance his illicit dealings. Desperate for money, Bruno does the unthinkable: he sells the child to a connection on the black market, who promises to find little Jimmy a good foster family. When Sonia discovers Bruno’s shameful deal, she demands the return of their baby, no matter what Bruno has to do, or to sell, to achieve it. Suitably ashamed, Bruno embarks on the most dangerous caper of his career.
