In 2008, filmmaker Tom Meadmore resolved to make a low-budget documentary about independent artists Amanda Medica and Tony Jackson, who were both chasing dreams of success in the fiercely competitive music industry. The director’s interest in his subjects was natural: Amanda was his girlfriend and Tony was his boss. In the process of making his film, Meadmore jeopardises two of the most important relationships in his life and consequently throws a spanner in the works of his own film.
