In the 1960s, Gerry Anderson and his wife Sylvia pioneered a puppetry animation technique called Supermarionation, which gave birth to iconic TV series like Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons and Joe 90. This documentary pays tribute to the Andersons’ puppet-based triumphs, combining fully restored clips from the programmes and previously unseen archive footage with new interviews and affectionate reconstructions of special effects sequences.
