Filmed over the course of 10 years, this expansive documentary explores the life and times of Vietnam veteran James Gordon "Bo" Gritz, who was supposedly the inspiration for Sylvester Stallone's character John Rambo. The film incorporates previously unseen archive footage as well as interviews with Gritz and the people who know him, interspersed with recreations of action scenes from 1980s war films, which were said to be based on the military hero's missions.
