Following the lead of America, Britain is rapidly becoming a nation of coffee houses, high streets cluttered with global brand names. These multinationals control the bulk of the global market, pushing up prices and paying the farmers as little as possible to maximise profits. This documentary pays tribute to Tadesse Meskela, a representative of the Oromia Coffee Farmers Co-op Union, who attempts to get a fair price for the 74 co-ops in southern Ethiopia, where some of the world’s best coffee beans are harvested.
