Jack Jordan – who was convicted last month for fourth degree stalking and second degree aggravated harassment – has now been ordered to seek psychiatric care as part of his probation.

New York Criminal Court Judge Gregory Carro – who rejected a prosecution recommendation that Jordan return to jail, where he was held for four months – told him: “It’s important that you understand that your conduct is unacceptable, is criminal.”

During his trial, Jordan said he would have left the Kill Bill star alone if he knew his behaviour was scaring her.

He said: “I heard things like, ‘Would you leave?’ instead of, ‘Sir, you’re making Ms. Thurman nervous. Please leave.’

“My greatest wish is that I had known sooner that I was putting fear into the heart of a woman I cared very much for.”

Uma told the Manhattan State Supreme Court she was “completely freaked out” by Jordan and said his alleged harassment of her had been a “nightmare”.

Meanwhile, Uma has revealed she wished her father had forced his Buddhist beliefs on her.

She said: “My father didn’t impose religion on us as children to the point that maybe it would have been nice to have a little more – something to rebel against.”
