As well as Wordy Rappinghood, a song that did much to bring the whole concept of rap to a mainstream UK audience back in 1981, Tom Tom Club had hits with Genius of Love and a cover of Under the Boardwalk.

The band – Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz plus a range of guests – have put out material ever since alongside their work for the Heads.

Tom Tom Club play the Jazz Cafe on consecutive nights, the 15,16 and 17 July, on top of dates in Cardiff (14 July) and Glasgow (20 July).

Tickets are on sale now.
