The tour sees the former Police front man, backed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, playing a selection of his most famous songs, both from his time with the famous 70s/80s band and from his ongoing solo career.

“I’m delighted by this new opportunity to tour with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, having a whole new palate of musical colours to work with and reinventing the songs that have been the staple of my live performance for over thirty years,” said Sting.

Songs on the Symphonicity set list include Police numbers Roxanne, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic and Every Breath You Take plus songs from Sting’s enduring solo career like Englishman in New York, If I Ever Lose My Faith in You and Fields of Gold.

Sting’s Royal Albert Hall gig is on 1 October. Ticket details likely to come next week.
