The X Factor judge has been friends with Simon for years and has worked with him on many projects and he insists he is a great star because he is a ”self-made man”.
Speaking to heat magazine, Louis said: ”Simon’s my favourite celebrity because I know him so well and he’s actually very normal. I know he has funny clothes and hair but he is very normal.”
”The best thing about Simon is that he is a self-made man and I like people who are self-made and get where they are on their own merit.”
Louis, 59, added that his close friend and former X Factor UK panellist Sharon Osbourne ranks a close second, because she is also self-made and strong-willed.
He joked: ”Don’t cross her though, or she’ll throw water over you on live TV like she did to me!”
