Pierce Brosnan is being investigated by Los Angeles police for allegedly assaulting a photographer.

The former James Bond star reportedly struck paparazzo Robert Rosen in the ribs outside Mexican restaurant Casa Escobar in Malibu at 6.15pm on Friday (26.10.07).
Brosnan is believed to have been leaving the restaurant with his children Dylan, 10, and Paris, six, when Rosen began taking pictures of him. Rosen claims an irate Brosnan shouted at him: “Why don’t you get a real
f***ing job?”
Rosen says he began complimenting the 54-year-old actor on his Bond roles, prompting Brosnan to reply “Why don’t you f**k off, mate,” before striking him in the ribs.
A witness says Rosen reacted by kicking the Hollywood star in the stomach.
Steve Whitmore, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said they are “actively investigating” the matter and will be referring the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney for review.
Brosnan is not the first Hollywood star to lash out at paparazzi.
Last week, Jessica Biel reportedly tried to hit a photographer with an umbrella while leaving a yoga class in Santa Monica.
In April, Music and Lyrics star Hugh Grant was arrested after reportedly kicking a photographer then throwing a tub of baked beans at him near his London home.
