The entrepreneurial challenge show is currently filmed in London, but bosses are ready to shift production to the BBC’s new home in North West England, when the next series starts filming next month.

Phone tycoon Peter and retail guru Theo are desperate to stay in London, while fellow Dragon Duncan Bannatyne would be happy with a move to Manchester because it’s closer to his home in Durham.

Duncan said: “We are debating whether or not we should film in Manchester or down in London.

“At the moment it’s in London. But I’d love it to be filmed up here. I’d be able to get home easier. I’m pushing for it, but Peter and Theo are pulling.”

Peter, Theo and Duncan are joined on the panel by Deborah Meaden and Hilary Devey and the five business moguls all offer financial investments to budding entrepreneurs if they impress them with their ideas.

BBC sources say they are weighing up whether to move filming, with one telling The Sun: “There is a strong case for the Dragons to relocate to Salford because the new complex is superb.”

Other BBC stars, including Chris Hollins and Sian Williams, have already announced they won’t move to Manchester when BBC Breakfast does next year.
