“A Brit Award nomination next week would be the icing on the cake,” Nutini is quoted as saying in today’s Daily Star.

The singer, who grew up in Scotland but who first attracted attention in gigs at the Bedford pub in Balham, is odds-on to get a nod for his 2009 album Sunny Side Up and could also find himself nominated in the Best British Male Singer category.

The Brits are on at the IndigO2 this year, while Nutini plays at the Royal Albert Hall in April.
