SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is to be the star turn at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

“William and Kate have chosen their wedding list and Paul McCartney is their No 1 choice to perform,” reveals a source in the Daily Star.
“He said he feels very privileged.”
McCartney’s appeal across a wide age-range is thought to have earned the former Beatle the royal gig.
“They can’t think of anyone more perfect to kick off proceedings,” said the source, presumably on the assumption Macca doesn’t sing that one about Yesterday when all his troubles were far away.
Not that any of this is official yet. “None of it has been finalised,” said a royal spokesperson.
Also not finalised is McCartney’s own hook up with American heiress Nancy Shevel.
“They get on so well – but marriage isn’t an issue to them at the moment,” explained a source earlier this week.
