SIR PAUL McCARTNEY has lost £60M over the last year, according to the Sunday Times, which publishes its annual Rich List this weekend.

Some might say it would be fun to blame Heather Mills and the £20M+ divorce settlement, but that’s nothing compared to what the former Beatle’s investment account leaked.

It’s true McCartney still has a fortune of £440M, but has slipped from £500M since last year thanks to huge losses suffered by his property and share portfolios.

Macca isn’t the only celeb to have been clobbered by the recession.

Sir Elton John saw a quarter of his wealth disappear – he’s now down to £175M – and Robbie Williams has gone under the dreaded £100M mark, making do with £80M compared to £105M last time out.

Further down the list, there are contrasting fortunes for singers Amy Winehouse and Duffy.

Winehouse’s pot of gold is now £5M, half what it was this time last year, while Duffy is a Rich List newcomer sitting on a cool £4M.
