Mary-Kate Olsen has reportedly refused to be interviewed by police about Heath Ledger’s death.

The 22-year-actress – who was a close friend of the late Brokeback Mountain actor – is said to be rejecting federal investigators attempts to talk to her about Heath, who died of an accidental prescription drugs overdose in his New York apartment in January, unless she is given immunity from prosecution.
A source said: “Everyone has been very eager to help, saying what a great guy Heath Ledger was, everyone except Mary-Kate, who has refused to speak.”
Olsen, who was the first person Ledger’s masseuse called after finding his body, could be forced to co-operate if police get a grand jury subpoena which would require the Full House actress to talk to them about Ledger’s death.
The police are said to be keen to speak to Olsen because they are attempting to ascertain where Ledger obtained the powerful painkiller OxyContin.
All the other drugs which were found in Ledger’s system in the post-mortem have been found as medicine prescribed by a legal physician, but the OxyContin is the only one which is as yet unsourced.
Olsen’s attorney Michael C. Miller denied the allegations, insisting: “Ms Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger’s home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them.
“Regarding the Government’s investigation, at Ms Olsen’s request, we have provided the Government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr Ledger’s death and the fact that Ms
Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr Ledger consumed.
“We don’t know the source of the information being quoted in the media regarding the Government’s inquiry, but these descriptions are incomplete and inaccurate.”
The star is the final person police want to interview regarding the incident.
Investigators have already spoken to Ledger’s doctors, bodyguards, business associates, the masseuse and Michelle Williams – who has a two-year-old daughter Matilda with the late actor.
