MARC ALMOND is to play the Roundhouse as part of his long-awaited UK tour, which goes ahead this autumn.

Famous as the Tainted Love singer out of Soft Cell, Almond has enjoyed a varied career, now stretching back nearly 30 years.

Recently, he’s concentrated on bringing to our attention Russian folk music, as seen through the Almond prism, and has a second Russian-themed album coming out later this year, to be followed by a more mainstream effort in 2010.

Can’t wait until November to catch Marc’s music? No worries: he’s providing the sounds for a burlesque stage show at Proud Camden next month, in collaboration with Immodesty Blaize and Julian Clary.

Tickets for the 1 November show at the Roundhouse go on sale on 1 May, while tickets for the burlesque event are available here.
