The Shout hitmaker thought she was going to be up against a “tough bad boy”, but in reality Brendan – who has dated the likes of Abi Titmuss and Strictly co-star Camilla Dallerup in the past – is a real “softie”.

Lulu said: “I’m only just beginning to get to know him. The things I’d imagined about him were horrendous. That he was a bad boy, that he was really tough.
“People don’t know him. He is a softie I have met his mum, his brother. his mother came over and I saw another side to him. He has been incredibly patient with me.”
On tomorrow night’s (15.10.11) show, Lulu and Brendan are performing a routine to a track from Phantom of the Opera and the singer confessed she is already beating herself about the “very emotional” steps.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, she added: “I get stressed out of my mind. It’s only a dance and I’m beating myself up.”
Brendan added: “It’s hard not to get serious about it. You want to do it really well and you’re focusing it on it, because you want it so much.
“I know it’s not changing the world or anything but it’s still what we’re doing right now. This week we have a very, very emotional dance.”
