The Australian pop princess is planning a show-stopping performance of the 64-year-old star’s classic hit Copacabana for her upcoming KYLIEX2008 tour, which begins in Paris on May 6.

A source said: “The show is going to include a lot of surprises. But one of the key moments in the production is when Kylie sings a rendition of Barry Manilow’s Copacabana.”

As Kylie performs the song – which earned Manilow a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1979 – the stage will reportedly transform into a glitzy cruise ship.

The source added to the Daily Star: “It’s very theatrical. It all ties in nicely with Kylie’s love of showgirls.”

Copacabana refers to a famous New York nightclub of the same name and tells the story of a showgirl called Lola and her barman lover Tony.

Last year, Kylie completed her epic Showgirl tour, which originally began in 2005 but was postponed while she battled breast cancer. The KYLIEX2008 tour includes 53 dates all over Europe, and will finish with a six-night residency at London’s O2 arena ending on August 2.
