Once again the British actress has trouble coming up with an acceptance speech. “I’m a little bit lost for words,” Winslet said. “I’m sorry.”

Lack of words has been a theme for Winslet in award shows this season, but she found enough composure to comment on the state of cinema at the moment.

“What a year it has been,” she said. “It is really an honour to be included in such a remarkable year. I feel like everybody should be given a medal.”

Also continuing its award season glory was Slumdog Millionaire, winner of the Ensemble Cast Award, which counts as the best film gong at the SAGs, as it’s an actor-oriented occasion.
