The 28-year-old actress is due to skate for the first time on this weekend’s show but threatened to pull out after her professional partner Dan Whiston suffered a hamstring tear.
She tweeted: “If Dan can’t skate on Sunday then I won’t be. So I’m afraid I may be hanging up my boots before it has even begun.”
Dan admits he has had a “stressful” week and though he is back on the ice, he is cautious about aggravating the injury again with training.
He said: “It’s been a stressful week. I’ve been having intensive physio every day and still don’t know if I’ll be able to skate on Sunday for our first routine. I haven’t been signed off yet, although I have been allowed back on to the ice.
“I’m going to have be very careful as it could go again at any time.
“But Jennifer is a true Northerner and has done really well. We’re just keeping our fingers crossed.”
Despite the pair’s fears, show insiders are hopeful they will be able to execute their routine without too much trouble.
A source told the Daily Star: “Thankfully its just the first week. That means the routine isn’t that challenging so he may be able to wing it on the night.
“Jen’s really worried – but for her it’s Dan or nothing.”
The show has been hit by a string of injuries this year and the competition is just a week old.
Keith Chegwin and Chesney Hawkes both had to pull out with serious injuries, while Heidi Range suffered a suspected broken wrist, Laila Morse needs surgery after a fall and Charlene Tilton, Rosemary Conley and Chemmy Alcott have all sustained ligament damage.
