The James Bond actor, Bridget Jones’ Diary star and Harry Potter actor all puckered up to kiss Casino Royale producer Barbara Broccoli, who paid the staggering sum for the smooch.

Other items sold at the auction to raise money for The National Film and Television School included the dinner jacket worn by Daniel in the most recent Bond film Casino Royale, which sold for UKP9,500, and a signed proof of the JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which fetched UKP18,000.

Daniel and Hugh competed in a bidding war over a set of Harry Potter memorabilia, which Daniel eventually won and paid UKP18,000 for.

Hugh was unlucky again when he put in a bid for two walk-on roles in a Working Title movie, but failed to match the winning UKP18,000 sum.

The evening – which was hosted by Jonathan Ross and also attended by Rowan Atkinson, Anne Robinson, Richard Curtis and Lord Richard Attenborough – raised UKP400,000 for the school, double the UKP200,000 they expected to make.
