The Hollywood actress and three fellow food lovers began their four-month tour in Madrid today (03.10.07) for Gwyneth’s 13-part TV series Spain … on the road again.

She said: “I don’t know what we are going to do, but it is going to be fun.”

The Shallow Hal star is joined by acclaimed chef Mario Batali, New York Times food writer Mark Bittman and Spanish actress Claudia Bassols.

The show’s producer Charles Pinsky said: “It is going to be a road trip, although we’ve planned things out. We’ve got some special things that maybe other tourists might not get a chance to do, as well.”

Gwyneth is fluent in Spanish after living with a local family in Castille when she was a student. The 35-year-old vegan is looking forward to sampling rice dishes and seafood, but won’t be tempted by any of the meaty delights Spain is famous for.

She said: “I won’t start eating meat on this trip, but my Spanish father would kill me.”

Gwyneth’s show is due to air on US TV in September 2008.
