SWINE FLU could claim the Glastonbury Festival as one of its victims.

“So many people gathered in one place is a risk and if the government wanted to pull public events, we’d be one of the first to go,” said a spokesperson for the festival.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that Glastonbury is safe for the moment, unless the virus turns into a full-on pandemic.

“At this stage the festival is going ahead and we are continuing to work flat out to make it a success,” said the spokesperson.

“But it would be crazy not to put a plan in place. Right now, though, it’s full steam ahead,” he added.

This year’s Glastonbury features legendary names like Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young, as well as more recent headliners such as Franz Ferdinand and Kasabian.

You’d be hard pressed to get Glastonbury tickets now, but the last three in that little list are all playing in London this summer. Tickets available here.
