“Fabrizio [Politi] is upset but totally respects Geri’s wishes,” a friend of the Spice Girl told The Sun.
“Her friends are not surprised – Geri has a track record for getting cold feet.”
Halliwell said yes when Politi, 34, popped the question in December, but doubts over her future with the Italian yacht company owner have surfaced in recent weeks, and grew to such an extent that the relationship is now sunk.
The same friend said that Ginger Spice, 36, “woke up one morning last week and decided she just wasn’t the marrying type”.
Just last month, Halliwell was telling pals she wanted to be pregnant for the planned summer wedding. No news yet on who gets the £250,000 engagement ring Politi stumped up for at Christmas time.
