The blonde singer gave birth to son Beau in August, but has since struggled to shed the pounds she piled on while pregnant.
Emma and the rest of the girls – Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Geri Halliwell and Mel C – are set to pose for a sexy lingerie shoot for Victoria’s Secret ahead of their comeback tour but Emma has been in tears over her post-baby bulge.
A source told Closer magazine: “Like any new mother, Emma’s just not feeling so confident about her body since having Beau.
“When they do the underwear shoot, each girl will have lingerie that has been themed to their Spice persona, but it seems likely that Emma’s going to want to be a bit more covered up than her bandmates.
“The weight hasn’t just dropped off her, she’s one of those people who has to diet and work out.
“It’s not that Emma considers herself to be fat, it’s just that the other Spice Girls are so tiny, and she can’t help comparing herself to them.”
The 31-year-old new mother, who is in a long-term relationship with former Damage singer Jade Jones, is a size 10, while Victoria is a miniscule size 00.
Emma has now embarked on a strict low-carb diet in a bid to slim down for the shoot and impending concerts – which kick off on 2 December in Vancouver, Canada.
