The Dirty Pretty Things frontman is worried fans will try and convince him to do a duet with Pete, his former Libertines bandmate, if they spot them together at the event which starts tomorrow (27.06.08).

He said: “I’m playing my first solo show at Glastonbury on the Leftfield stage on Saturday night (28.06.08). I’m doing it for prison charity Jail Guitar Doors/Real Fits, which is about getting your art and your voice heard.

“I’d like to check out Pete’s set if it doesn’t clash with mine but at the same time I don’t feel well enough to deal with all the attention that might come to me – if the fans spotted me they would probably want us to get up on stage.”

Pete is set to perform on the Park stage tomorrow. Carl is looking forward to getting back to performing after being hospitalised recently for an acute case of pancreatitis.

He added to the Daily Star: “I’ve been in hospital in four days but I’m feeling much better now. I’m still in a bit of discomfort but I’m looking forward to getting back in the game. Being in hospital was a sobering period. I think the best thing for me is to get back on stage.”
