A Los Angeles court ordered the Toxic singer to hand over two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James to ex-husband Kevin Federline until further notice yesterday (01.10.07).

Judge Scott M. Gordon ruled Kevin would take charge of the two boys from midday tomorrow (03.10.07).

However, sources claim an unemotional Britney immediately handed the children over to Kevin’s bodyguard yesterday before going to a tanning salon.

Britney and Kevin – whose divorce was finalised in July – had originally been granted joint custody of their sons.

Britney’s erratic behaviour – which has seen her party wildly, allegedly take drugs, go to rehab and publicly shave her head – sparked Kevin’s decision to fight to become the boys’ primary carer.

Last month, Judge Gordon said Britney showed “a habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol” and ordered her to take twice-weekly drug tests.

He also ruled Britney and Kevin – who has two other children from a previous relationship – must complete a parenting class.

Just days after the ruling, Britney was charged with driving without a valid licence and leaving the scene of an accident after she hit another car.

If found guilty, Britney – whose Louisiana licence is not valid in the state of California where she is currently living – faces up to six months in jail.

Sources claim the singer – who was seen illegally driving her two sons around town – has now applied for a valid licence.
