BLUR won’t have a proper new album to back up their forthcoming tour, the band have announced.

There had been rumours that the reunification of Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree would result in new music as well as the new tour, but it’s not to be.

“We don’t envisage a new album for the moment,” Coxon told the Daily Star.

“We’re all busy with our own projects.”

Instead, the Parklife band will rely on a greatest hits LP, Midlife, their second best of… release, as the sales support for the tour, which reaches London next month.

Blur are to appear at two contrasting venues in London, Goldsmith’s College and Hyde Park, between 22 June and 3 July. Midlife is released on 15 June.
