The star-studded posse hope viewers of the BBC’s charity effort will buy copies of the aprons and mugs on show, designed by Emma Bridgewater, to put money in the Comic Relief coffers.

“The money you raise through fundraising will help people living incredibly tough lives right here in the UK and throughout Africa, said Atomic Kitten’s Natasha Hamilton.

The celebs have imitated poses from 2003 movie Calendar Girls, which sees a Women’s Institute become a media sensation when they raise money for a local hospital by posing nude for a calendar.

“Red Nose Day is all about doing something funny for money,” said Nancy Dell’Olio.

“By having fun in the kitchen, I’ve hopefully raised a few smiles, and reminded people that buying an apron or a mug is one of the simplest ways to donate”.

Bridgewater’s range features six different mug designs, two tea towels and apron designs, an oven glove and a bag for life and reflects the Red Nose Day theme, Do Something Funny for Money.

Red Nose Day takes place this year on Friday 15 March.
