The Rehab singer, who has battled cocaine and heroin addictions and was hospitalised following a drug overdose in August, plan to throw a huge party over the festive season before she checks into a rehabilitation and detox centre.

One of Amy’s friends told The Sun: “She has agreed she will sort her life out in the New Year. Her team are sending her on a one-week rehab and detox treatment course.

“But she is going to throw a party at her new flat in east London over Christmas – which will probably be a messy affair.”

Amy – who has struggled to cope since husband Blake Fielder-Civil was imprisoned on remand for assault and allegedly perverting the course of justice – reportedly wants to get clean before the Grammy Awards on 10 February.

The star, who has been nominated in six categories, is determined to impress the music industry with a stunning performance at the prestigious ceremony in Los Angeles’ Staples Centre.

The pal added: “She wants to give the performance of her life in Los Angeles. Things have got worse for Amy since Blake was jailed. She has been taking more drugs than ever.”

Amy, who briefly entered an Essex rehab facility after her overdose, has worried friends and family with her erratic behaviour. Last weekend, Amy’s mother Janis begged her to take a career break and address her drug addiction.

Janis said: “Early fame has overwhelmed you, it’s dizzied you and muddled your mind. You think you’re strong enough to get through this on your own, darling, but you’re not.”

Earlier this month, Blake’s mother Georgette also revealed her concerns for the Back to Black star. Georgette said: “Amy is still using drugs while Blake is in prison. She is using more cocaine and heroin now than ever.

“It’s desperately sad and we’re all so worried about her mental and emotional well-being. She needs professional help.”
