The 21-year-old reality star – whose career launched on the first series of the ITV2 show, before she quit this summer to take part in Celebrity Big Brother – thinks her former co-stars are “jel[ous]” because she has landed her own Channel 5 show.

“I think some people have been getting a bit funny,” Childs told the Daily Star.

“I don’t know if they’re jel, but I can imagine some will say I’ve made the wrong decision. I would never knock the show because it’s what made me, but I think it used to be much more natural.

“Some of the scenes now are like something straight out of Hollyoaks.”

Meanwhile, ITV has commissioned four further series of The Only Way Is Essex to air in 2012, despite show main man Mark Wright having quit to enter I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! last night (13.11.11) and leading lady Lauren Goodger reportedly set to star in the upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother in January.

An insider told The People: “TOWIE has been a huge success and producers are confident it can carry on doing well. Committing to four series in 2012 is a big deal, and it will feel to the viewing public like it’s pretty much always on.

“ITV bosses are in no doubt that TOWIE can continue to be a hit without some of the higher profile members of the cast.”
