AINSLEY HARRIOT has created his last meal for Ready Steady Cook, with the long-running series today (Friday 5 November) given the boot by BBC bosses.

“I feel privileged to have been part of the Ready Steady Cook family for the past 15 years,” said Balham-born Harriot.
“I am immensely proud of its success as the longest-running cookery show on British television and will always look back on it with the fondest of memories.”
The chances of Harriot getting a replacement cookery show on the Beeb, at least during the day, look slim as the channel says it aims to change the make-up of its daytime schedule.
Liam Keelan, head of Dayime at the BBC, said that in the future he wanted to concentrate on drama and current affairs.
“Ready Steady Cook has been taken as far as it could,” said axeman Keelan.
