Diana’s Lovers: Emad ‘Dodi’ Fayed
International playboy/Film producer/Heir to Harrods fortune
Smouldering sexiness beneath outward charm
Before Diana, Dodi was known as a harmless playboy. His string of captured pearls were said to have included Brooke Shields, Joanne Whalley, Cathy Lee Cosby and Julia Roberts. After Diana Dodi appeared a changed man, no longer interested in the many and pleasurable surface distractions his wealthy lifestyle offered. “I will never have another girlfriend,” Dodi said following Diana’s successful raid on his heart. It is said that Diana was quick to penetrate Dodi’s hidden depths, past his playboy image, to discover an inner sadness caused by the death of his mother.
Following in the sporty footsteps of James Hewitt and Will Carling, Dodi made it his business to get on the good side of William and Harry by providing jet-skis, discos and amusement arcades on holiday in San Tropez, a break organised by his daddy Mohammed Al Fayed.
Later Dodi bought Di a number of wildly expensive gifts including the bauble many say was intended as an engagement ring, a diamond encrusted piece that rang the till at some UKP140,000.
Did he, y’know…eh?
And some. Diana herself described their days and nights on their two holidays together as “bliss” – and we don’t think she was referring to the glorious weather. Some of the pictures taken illicitly of the couple during their all too brief romance make it abundantly clear that they were extremely comfortable with each others bodies..
What went wrong?
Whatever conspiracy theory you favour as the path to the truth behind that crash one day last August, death remains at journey’s end.

“He would have dumped her like all the others.”
