A documentary recalling the early days of motorsports, when fatalities were common. In 1966, medical student and life-long racing fan Stephen Olvey volunteered at the Indianapolis 500. He was horrified by the frequency of fatal incidents and lack of medical care available to drivers. Olvey embarked on a crusade to revolutionise modern trauma medicine and the film traces his accomplishments through the decades, accompanied by interviews with former and current race car drivers.
