In 2010, celebrated Iranian director Jafar Panahi was sentenced to six years in prison and a 20 year ban from filmmaking and conducting interviews with foreign press for his vociferous support of the opposition party in Iran's 2009 election. As he waited for a decision on an appeal to his punishment, Panahi's close friend Mojtaba Mirtahmasb filmed the director on an iPhone and a simple digital video camera, capturing day to day life under detention and revealing the close bond between Panahi and his family.
