Website designer Wilson Joel is devastated when his loving wife Liza commits suicide by poisoning herself on car exhaust fumes. The only way Wilson can cope with the overwhelming grief is to numb the pain by sniffing gasoline. Gradually, he loses his grasp on reality and he lets his job slide with catastrophic consequences. Meanwhile, he refuses to open the suicide letter left by Liza to explain her actions, which infuriates and angers his mother-in-law.
