Nan is an 80-year-old widow, who would love to be enjoying her retirement in peace but her sprawling family insists on meddling in her affairs. Her dim-witted 40-year-old son Colm still lives at home and cannot find a job. Trouble looms large when Colm and the rest of the clan tidy Nan’s house and throw out some of her belongings including an old mattress. It transpires that the matriarch had squirrelled away a fortune – £90,000 – in the mattress for a rainy day.
