A documentary portrait of 18th century adventurer Ambrose O’Higgins, the father of the first leader of Independent Chile, which sets out to retrace O’Higgins’ steps from Ireland to South America. In the process of accomplishing this feat, the filmmakers are side-tracked by the second story of an 11-month-old baby, who travelled unaccompanied by ship across the Atlantic in 1937 from New York to Cobh in County Cork.
