Ze lives with his girlfriend Carla and her young son Mowgli. He earns a meagre wage by assembling lifts at a factory in Lisbon, which is partially owned by the workforce. Staff begin to fear the worst when management at the factory ‘relocate’ the equipment to another site and rumours are rife that Ze and his colleagues are going to be made redundant. The workers, who are predominantly men, dig their heels in and refuse to cave to veiled threats from senior figures.
